Circular Route through Santa Cruz de La Palma and Visit the Ecofinca

Circular Route through Santa Cruz de La Palma, Passing by Our Ecofinca

We invite you to embark on a circular route through the capital of the island, passing by La Haciendita del Carmen, our family-run ecofinca located in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Our farm offers high-quality organic products, available for purchase, along with a wide variety of animals and species that will surprise you. Additionally, you’ll find a diverse range of fruits and vegetables cultivated with great care and dedication.

Although the primary economic activity revolves around the sale of our organic crops, La Haciendita del Carmen also offers guided tours (by appointment) for those interested in exploring the finca and experiencing firsthand what we do.

A unique way to visit La Haciendita del Carmen is by taking a hiking route that leads directly to the farm, allowing you to combine physical activity with a visit to the ecofinca.

Circular Route through Santa Cruz de La Palma

The circular route we propose starts at La Alameda in Santa Cruz de La Palma and passes through various scenic points before reaching the Ermita de Las Nieves, descending back to the capital and finishing where it began. The route is approximately 8 to 9 kilometers long, and the duration will vary depending on your pace and stops along the way.

The route begins at La Alameda, home to the Barco de la Virgen, from where you will ascend to the upper part of the town, reaching the Molinos de Bellido (alternatively, you can climb near the Mensajero football field). After reaching this point, the ascent continues toward Las Tierritas, followed by a descent that leads to the Molinos del Barranco del Río. From here, the path reaches the Santuario de la Virgen de Las Nieves, after which you continue along the Camino de Los Muertos. At this point, the descent toward Barranco del Carmen begins, and just a few meters further, you will arrive at La Haciendita del Carmen.

This is a great opportunity to take a break and visit the finca, where you can learn about our agricultural practices, explore the diverse fauna and flora, and enjoy freshly harvested organic fruits and vegetables. It’s an experience not to be missed while hiking on your way back to the capital.

After your visit to La Haciendita del Carmen, the descent continues through the Barranco del Carmen to the Ermita del Carmen, and from there, you will pass the CIFP Virgen de Las Nieves, ultimately returning to La Alameda.

This circular route offers not only a scenic hike but also an immersive experience into sustainable farming and local organic products, making it a perfect blend of nature, exercise, and eco-tourism.
